Farmers in Primorye, Russia, have prepared 44,000 tons of seeds for the upcoming spring sowing season, with soybeans accounting for the majority at 35,000 tons. Other seeds include wheat, barley, oats, and rice. The region also imports higher reproduction seeds and corn hybrids from other parts of Russia. Due to a low-snow winter, early grain sowing is planned for the end of March. The region aims to increase the sown area by 1%, to 495,000 hectares, primarily using corn and rice.
