Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Andrei Razin, recently visited Primorsky Krai to discuss the region's agricultural plans and progress. The focus was on preparing for the sowing campaign, updating machinery, and leveraging unused lands. The Far East, which accounts for 36% of Russia's soybean production, saw a 35% increase in soybean harvest last year. Greenhouse vegetable production also surged, with a record 36.2 thousand tons in 2022. The U.S. Department of Agriculture estimates that the total sown area will grow by 7.5% this year to 2.3 thousand hectares. The meeting emphasized the need for more mineral fertilizers and modern agricultural machinery, with regions encouraged to use preferential leasing and lending for purchases. The Ministry of Agriculture also explored the production of feed biotechnological products by Arnika Holding Group of Companies and visited the Rusagro Primorye elevator complex and feed mill.
