In September 2024, Peru's manufacturing sector experienced a 2.7% year-on-year growth, significantly boosting the national GDP. This increase was largely driven by the non-primary manufacturing subsector, with consumer goods, capital goods, and industrial services showing notable gains. Key industries such as furniture, clothing, and canned fruits and vegetables contributed to this growth. Although the primary manufacturing subsector faced challenges, particularly in fishery products and oil refining, improvements are anticipated with the upcoming anchovy fishing season. From January to September 2024, the sector grew by 2.9%, fueled by rising domestic demand and industrial exports. The government is dedicated to creating a competitive environment for investment and industrial development.
