Valencian agrarian organizations AVA and La Unió, along with Cooperatives Agro-Alimentaries, are pleased with the European Union's decision to approve cold treatment in transit for South African oranges to combat the false moth pest. However, they believe the measure is insufficient and should be extended to other citrus fruits. They are also calling for greater transparency about who has opposed the cold treatment for all citrus fruits. The organizations have a positive outlook, believing the decision could be extended to other citrus fruits and regions in the future, crediting the achievement to collaboration between Public Administrations, sector representative organizations, and Intercitrus.
