The National Commission for Development and Life without Drugs (Devida) strengthened the technical capabilities of cocoa producers from the organizations in the Valley of the Rivers Apurímac, Ene, and Mantaro (Vraem), through the course "Transformation and generation of added value in the cocoa line." The workshop, carried out in alliance with the Vraem Productive CITE, brought together chocolate entrepreneurs from the districts of Vizcatán del Ene (Junín), Santa Rosa, Río Magdalena, and Ayna (Ayacucho), as well as from Kimbiri and Pichari (Cusco). During the theoretical-practical sessions, the participants reinforced knowledge on the selection of the bean, formulation, transformation processes, and the production of quality chocolate, with the objective of accessing markets that value the origin and traceability of the Vraem cocoa.
