In the first half of 2020, agricultural communities in the Valle de los Ríos Apurímac, Ene y Mantaro (Vraem) and Alto Huallaga regions of Peru successfully exported 77 tons of cocoa and coffee products to the United States and Europe, generating over 560,000 soles in revenue. This achievement, which benefited 590 farming families, included the sale of 35.52 tons of cocoa in Vraem and 9.47 tons of cocoa in Alto Huallaga, as well as 32.4 tons of parchment coffee beans from the Monzón, Las Palmas, and Marías districts. The exports reached markets in countries such as Australia, the UK, Germany, France, Spain, Norway, and the US, with the Association of Cocoa and Coffee Producers of the Monzón Valley (APROCAF) overseeing the acquisition and storage of the products for sale.
