Chile: Production of consumer eggs showed a year-on-year increase of 6.4% in July 2024

In July 2024, the production of eggs for consumption in Chile experienced a year-on-year increase of 6.4%, going from 336,413,084 to 357,801,558 units, as reported by the National Institute of Statistics (INE). Regarding color classification, the production volume of white eggs grew by 11.3% (equivalent to 25,977,908 units), while the production of colored eggs decreased by 4.3% (equivalent to 4,589,434 units). During the same analysis period, the number of laying hens nationwide increased by 4.1% compared to July 2023, reaching a total of 14,837,391 birds.
