In July 2024, Chile's egg production rose by 6.4% year-on-year to 357.8 million units, as reported by the National Institute of Statistics (INE). White egg production increased by 11.3%, while colored egg production fell by 4.3%. The number of laying hens grew by 4.1% to nearly 14.8 million. Extra large and large white eggs saw significant increases, whereas extra large and large colored eggs experienced declines. The Metropolitan Region led in both egg production and the number of laying hens, followed by Valparaíso and Ñuble Regions.
