In April 2024, Chile saw a significant increase in egg production for consumption, with a 10.0% year-on-year rise to 350,814,412 units. This growth is primarily due to a 10.2% increase in white eggs produced and a 9.6% increase in colored eggs. The Metropolitan Region was the leading contributor to this production, accounting for 43.3% of the national total. The number of laying hens in Chile also increased by 4.0% compared to the previous year, reaching a total of 14,581,324. The extra large and large classes of eggs saw the most significant growth in weight.
