Production of pigs for slaughter in the Oryol region has increased almost fivefold since 2016.

In 2025, pig production for slaughter (live weight) amounted to 304.7 thousand tons. According to preliminary data from Rosstat, the production of livestock products in 2025 in the Oryol region amounted to 57.4 billion rubles (in actual prices), or 104.9% compared to the previous year (in comparable prices). The share of livestock production in the total agricultural production stood at 31.6%. The production of cattle and poultry for slaughter (live weight) in farms of all categories in the region increased by 3.8% over the year, to 381.9 thousand tons. This is largely due to the increase in pig production for slaughter by 9.0%, to 304.7 thousand tons. Since 2016, the production of cattle and poultry has increased 3.0 times, and pig production has increased 4.9 times.
