Production of Ukrainian grapes: Odesa region leads, Kherson region and Mykolaiv region strengthen the market

Prices for grapes in Ukraine this year increased to UAH 60-85 per kilogram, depending on the variety, quality and region. According to Tetyana Popovych, head of the marketing department of the Shuvar wholesale market in Lviv, the average price of white and dark grapes on the market is currently 75 UAH/kg, while last year it was 65 UAH/kg. The main grape farms are concentrated in the south of the country, where the Odesa region is the largest producer of grapes. This region grows both table varieties and technical varieties for winemaking. Kherson and Mykolaiv regions are also important regions, where mainly table varieties are concentrated, which are actively supplied to the domestic market. Zakarpattia is dominated by wine varieties, which emphasizes the traditions of the region.
