In the 2023/24 season, the Russian oil and fat industry saw a significant increase in production, with over 10 million tons of vegetable oils produced, marking an 8% rise from the previous season. This growth was fueled by a record harvest of oilseeds and extensive stock processing. Sunflower oil production experienced the highest growth at 14%, while rapeseed oil production declined by 14%. Key production regions included Krasnodar Territory, Voronezh, Rostov, Belgorod, and Kaliningrad Regions. Plant meal production also increased by 10% to 14.2 million tons, with sunflower meal leading at 7.54 million tons. The production of margarine and mayonnaise remained stable. The top five companies, including GC Sodruzhestvo, GC EFKO, and GC Rusagro, dominated 46% of the market.
