The Secretariat of Agriculture and Supply (SAA) of São Paulo has launched the Feap SP Artesanal + Legal, a new form of economic subsidy to reimburse expenses related to the sanitary and structural adjustments of artisanal productions. With an investment of R$ 3 million, the project aims to enable producers to make the necessary improvements for the formalization and compliance with food processing standards, especially within the scope of the São Paulo Inspection Service (Sisp) in its Artisanal modality, a registration that certifies the quality, tradition, and origin of the product. According to the SAA, the Feap SP Artesanal + Legal aims to address the main challenge that still prevents some producers from completing the formalization process: the cost of the structural and sanitary adjustments necessary for registration.
