ProHass: Peru will export 23,895 containers of Hass avocado by the end of 2024, which means a decrease of 9.41% compared to the previous year

(Agraria.pe) By the end of 2024, Peru would export 23,895 containers of Hass avocado (505,857 tons), which would mean a decrease of -9.41% compared to the 26,377 containers (558,430 tons) shipped the previous year, reported the Association of Producers and Exporters of Hass Avocado of Peru (ProHass). It detailed that, this year, from week 1 to 48, our country shipped 23,831 containers and it is expected that from week 49 to 52, 64 containers will be shipped; while in 2023, from week 1 to 48, 26,315 containers were exported and from week 49 to 52, 62 containers were shipped. “From week 1 to 48, 99.7% was already exported, and in the remainder of this year (week 49 to 52) 0.3% remains to be shipped,” the union said. It indicated that, at the end of 2024, the main destination for Hass avocados from Peru will be Europe, which will account for 61.98% of the total.
