The Vietnamese Government is taking steps to restore and boost the export supply chain for agricultural, forestry, and fishery products after the COVID-19 pandemic. The Deputy Prime Minister has requested provincial and city People's Committees to collaborate with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to support enterprises in restoring export supply chains and developing post-COVID-19 export promotion plans. The Ministry of Industry and Trade will play a key role in guiding localities and enterprises to restore agricultural and forestry export supply chains. Despite a decrease in export values in August, Vietnam achieved a 21.6% increase in export turnover of these products in the first eight months of 2021, reaching 32.1 billion USD. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development plans to open agricultural markets and support localities and enterprises to export agricultural products that meet export standards to various countries, including the EU and UK.
