In 2020, the production of Prosciutto di San Daniele PDO reached 2,546,000 legs, with 18% of that production exported and the rest consumed domestically, generating a total turnover of 310 million euros. The main export markets were France, the United States, Germany, and Australia, with the European Union receiving 57% of the total quotas. There was also significant growth in Eastern European markets, with Romania, Poland, Slovenia, Ukraine, and the Czech Republic seeing the largest increases. Additionally, the production of pre-sliced trays experienced consistent growth, with over 21.3 million certified trays.
