Public and private sectors unite to strengthen the production chain of passion fruit

In the framework of the inauguration of the III International Congress of Passion Fruits of Peru, the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri) and the Association of Exporters (ADEX) signed an inter-institutional cooperation agreement with the objective of strengthening the passion fruit production chain. In this regard, Midagri, through the National Institute of Agrarian Innovation (INIA), and in coordination with ADEX, will design pilot plans to promote and support initiatives in the areas of increasing production and productivity, fruit quality, new varieties, which will contribute to the development of the passion fruit chain. Among the agreements, it has also been considered that Midagri will work on the elaboration and implementation of joint training and technical assistance plans with ADEX, aimed at increasing productivity, associativity, integrated management, financing, and commercial articulation of passion fruit producers.
