A new purple pulp sweet potato cultivar, BRS Anembé, has been developed by Embrapa Hortaliças, a Brazilian agricultural research institution. The cultivar was selected for its good agronomic performance, high dry matter content, and suitability for both industrial processing and culinary use. It has shown adaptability and consistency across different regions in Brazil, and is expected to increase the value of sweet potato products. The cultivar is among three new sweet potato technologies put up for public offering by Embrapa in 2021.
