Vietnam's agricultural sector is facing challenges due to a shrinking export market and low domestic consumption. There is a backlog of agricultural products in Dong Thap province, including purple sweet potato, due to lack of interest from traders. In Dak Lak province, agricultural export contracts have been canceled or suspended due to Covid-19 requirements and insufficient testing capacity. The pandemic has also led to a drop in prices for fruits like avocado and pineapple due to oversupply and limited consumption. In Long An province, the distribution system for red flesh dragon fruit is disproportionate to the production output, leading to a price gap between purchase and export prices.
