Areca prices in Son Tay district, Quang Ngai province, Vietnam, are high, leading to significant income for local farmers. The district, known as the 'land of thousands of areca', has over 600 households with an annual income of 100 million VND or more, some earning up to 1 billion VND. Areca cultivation covers over 1,022 hectares and is mainly for export, with 16 processing factories and around 120 employees. The district plans to expand areca cultivation to about 2,000 hectares by 2025.
