In 2022, the People's Committee of Cam Lo district in Vietnam partnered with the district Agricultural Extension Station to launch a stuffed snail farming model in Nhat Le village. The project, spanning 1,500m2 and involving 60,000 seeds, was supported by the station, which covered half of the cost for seeds and feed. The stuffed snails, known for their disease resistance and lower maintenance needs, are fed duckweed, taro leaves, and fruits, making them less labor-intensive for farmers. The model has seen successful results after 2.5 months, with well-grown snails and a high survival rate. This initiative is expected to increase the per-unit-area added value, encourage the rational restructuring of aquaculture, and boost income for the community, all while utilizing agricultural by-products and maintaining a clean environment.
