RAGT Group to acquire Syngenta's two-row malting barley seed business

RAGT and Syngenta have entered into a purchase agreement for the acquisition by RAGT of Syngenta's two-row spring and winter barley breeding and seed production business. Thus, RAGT intends to consolidate its presence and expert status, offering solutions for the malt, beer, and spirits industry. This is stated in a press release from the company. It is noted that the agreement is subject to standard approval requirements (including consultation with local employees) and is expected to be completed by December 30, 2025. The financial terms of the agreement are not disclosed. The transaction involves the acquisition of Syngenta's barley breeding facility at the Market Stainton site, located in Lincolnshire, UK.
