Over the past week, precipitation arrived in our country in two waves: first, 1-2 mm fell in the southern part of the country last Thursday, followed by more substantial rain on Monday in Transdanubia, according to the latest agrometeorological report from HungaroMet Zrt. On the western territories, 20-30 mm fell, while to the east of the Danube, it typically remained below 2 mm. Thus, over the past 10 days, there was hardly any precipitation in the eastern two-thirds of the country. The 30-day precipitation total only exceeds the average on the western border, while the rest of the country shows a deficit. There is a massive shortfall in the 90-day precipitation total in the vast majority of our country (in some southern areas, it exceeds 100 mm), with only spots in the northern part of the country where the multi-year average or more rainfall has occurred.
