Rains bring optimism to the citrus sector, but strong winds cause concern

The resumption of rains in the citrus areas of São Paulo, Paraná, and part of Minas Gerais has brought optimism to the sector's agents. The rain favors the flowering of the approaching 2026/27 crop, as pointed out by the Center for Advanced Studies in Applied Economics (Cepea). On the other hand, according to the institute, the intense winds that accompanied these rains have caused some damages, especially with the falling of fruits, which is already a concern this season due to the advancement of greening and citrus canker.
