The National Confederation of Fish Merchants in Moroccan Ports and Markets, along with other fishing associations, have sparked controversy by raising the reference price for industrial sardines by 25 cents per kilogram. The increase is aimed at preserving fish wealth, ensuring quality, and easing professional tension. However, the National Union of the Fish Canning Industry (UNICOP) and the National Association for Freezing Sea Products Industries have rejected the increase, arguing that price changes should be mutually agreed upon by suppliers and manufacturers.
