Ranchers, cooperatives and industries, key pieces for rural economies of the dairy sector of Spain

The Interprofessional Lactea Organization (INLAC) is firmly committed to the dairy sector, which currently needs determined support from the Administration, points of sale and consumers to guarantee its economic and social viability. We have a large sector and the figures speak for themselves, since the production, transformation and marketing chain (beef, sheep and goats) has a turnover of 13,000 million euros per year and generates more than 60,000 direct jobs. And we have more than 23,000 farmers. Among the problems to be solved, the loss of value in the chain caused by the strong pressure of the distribution chains and the unstoppable increase in production costs for farmers, cooperatives and manufacturing companies, has drawn a complicated scenario that will require great efforts shared to overcome it.
