EU milk prices are experiencing a decline due to reduced global demand for dairy products and increased production, leading to a surplus of raw materials in Europe. The average price of raw milk in the EU in March was 51.79 euro cents per kg, a decrease of almost 3% from February and 15.2% lower than the previous year. The lowest milk prices in the EU are in Latvia, and the highest are in countries like Cyprus, Malta, and Spain. The European milk market is still correcting prices after last year's 'overheating', when European companies significantly increased purchase prices due to reduced milk production from drought in Europe and floods in Australia. The surge in surplus raw materials has resulted in exchange goods accumulating in warehouses in European countries, not correlating to the real demand in the world.
