Record harvest of sunflower, rapeseed and soybeans in Russia in 2025

In 2025/26, oilseed production in Russia will increase by 3.6 million tons to a record 33 million tons. This optimistic forecast was announced on April 3 by the head of the Institute for Agricultural Markets (IKAR - Moscow) Dmitry Rylko. During the annual conference of the oilseed industry, held on April 3 in Moscow, Rylko emphasized that expectations for record production are based on an increase in planted areas. The total area for growing oilseeds in the Russian Federation for the 2025/26 harvest is estimated at about 20 million hectares, of which 10.20 million hectares for sunflower, compared to 9.76 million hectares last year.
