The 2025/26 season has become a paradoxical one for the Ukrainian pea market: a record harvest has resulted in record difficulties in marketing. According to the results of the season, production reached 653 thousand tons (+40% y/y) — the highest level in the last 7 years, yet the export pace turned out to be unusually low for the first half of the marketing year. This is reported by UkrAgroConsult. From July to December 2025, only 160 thousand tons of peas were exported from Ukraine (–34% y/y), which corresponds to only about a third of the total export potential of the season. For comparison, in previous years, 60–70% of the volumes were realized by the middle of the season. This dynamic forms an oversupply within the country and increases pressure on prices. Traditional demand drivers — India and Turkey — have practically disappeared from the market, and the expected Chinese direction has not yet become widespread. Against this backdrop, export prices at the end of autumn fell to $260–270/ton CPT Odesa, which was a minimum for the last year and is restraining sales.
