The revenue amounted to US$ 1.9 billion, an increase of 18.4% compared to the same period last year, according to data from the Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services (MDIC) compiled by the Brazilian Association of Meat Exporting Industries (Abiec). The result represents the best monthly performance in the historical series that began in 1997, consolidating September as the month of highest volume ever exported by Brazil. The performance occurred even under the impact of additional tariffs imposed by the United States in August, which raised the cost of imports of Brazilian beef to that market.
