Recovery raises pork margin in Paraná

Independent pork production in Paraná registered, in 2025, the highest profitability of the last five years, with an average margin of R$ 1.03 per kilogram, according to the Conjunctural Bulletin released this Thursday (12) by the Department of Rural Economy of the State Secretariat of Agriculture and Supply. The result corresponds to the difference between the price received by the producer, determined by Deral, and the estimated production cost by Embrapa Swine and Poultry. The performance occurs after a period of average losses of R$ 0.36/kg in 2021 and R$ 0.97/kg in 2022. From 2023, there was a gradual recovery, with an average annual margin of R$ 0.24/kg, advancing to R$ 0.73/kg in 2024.
