(Jangsu=Yonhap News) Reporter Baek Do-in = On the 9th, Jangsu County in Jeonbuk announced that it will support the shredding of agricultural by-products for farmers.
This initiative involves shredding pruning branches of apples and grapes, as well as leftover chili stems and perilla stems after harvest, and then spraying the resulting compost onto farmland.
Those interested can apply by the 14th of next month at the agricultural consultation office in their township or district.
A county official urged attention to the initiative, stating that it aims to prevent the illegal incineration of agricultural by-products and to promote environmentally friendly circular agriculture.
