A study by the Rural Development Administration has found that high temperatures cause significant damage to red beans, particularly during the flowering period. The experiment, conducted in a high-temperature greenhouse, resulted in an 83% decrease in yield during the flowering period. High temperatures can cause leaves to wrinkle and turn yellow, reducing photosynthetic assimilation. To reduce damage, maintaining adequate soil moisture through irrigation is important. The administration plans to develop cultivation technology to mitigate damage from high temperatures and produce red beans stabilely as as a response to climate change.
