The National Agricultural Cooperative Federation Livestock Economy in South Korea has initiated a fattening support project to encourage the culling of underdeveloped cattle among farms participating in the 'Korean Beef Root Farm Development Project'. This project aims to cull 3,000 underperforming cows born after June 2022, identifying them as the bottom 20% based on the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation Livestock Research Institute's genetic ability evaluation. The project will begin with five livestock cooperatives, including Changnyeong Livestock Cooperative, and will provide financial support to farms that cull a specified number of cows by November of the following year. The goal is to enhance farm efficiency, improve cattle quality, and stabilize the Hanwoo supply and demand.
