This week, a delegation from China's General Administration of Customs (GACC) visited the country in what appear to be the final steps before enabling bovine offal exports to the Asian giant, after several years of hints and promises. From the Beef Promotion Institute (IPCVA), they are confident that everything is in order and that the seal will be obtained soon, something that export refrigeration plants are eagerly awaiting. This is an agreement that both countries have been negotiating for quite some time. The visit made this week was intended to audit refrigeration plants and Senasa laboratories to certify their operation and thus be able to have the protocol signed as soon as possible, which is already polished. For years, Argentina has exported offal to China, but not directly, rather through Hong Kong. This sanitary authorization would be opening the big door to that market and improving prices.
