Brazil's Cerrado is gaining prominence in regenerative agriculture. The Regenera Cerrado project, an initiative of the Fórum do Futuro in partnership with universities and companies, concluded the first phase in September, covering over 8,000 hectares of farms in southwestern Goiás. During this stage, practices that reduced the use of chemical inputs, such as fertilizers (-20%), fungicides (-30%), and insecticides (-50%), were validated, while increasing the use of bioinputs and biological control techniques, maintaining the productivity of soybean and corn crops. The project also monitored ecosystem services, such as the preservation of pollinators, showing increased productivity near native forest areas, and improvements in soil structure and greenhouse gas mitigation.
