In November 2020, the market saw a significant increase in black pepper prices in production areas due to rising demand and decreasing supply, particularly with the anticipation of a lean 2020/21 crop. Despite this, prices remained stable in Malaysia. Export volumes and values for November 2020 were down compared to the previous month and year, with a total export volume of 21 thousand tons valued at $ 53 million. For the first 11 months of 2020, pepper exports saw a decrease in volume and value compared to the same period in 2019. The average export price of pepper to Germany and the Netherlands also decreased, with Vietnam's market share of pepper in total German imports slightly increasing.
