Argentina's strong tradition of rapeseed cultivation is being reinforced by various research programs, particularly INTA Paraná's focus on genetic improvement of seed quality. The current rapeseed cultivars are highly adaptable to different environments, positioning Argentina in the top ranks of rapeseed development, alongside European nations and Australia. The resurgence of interest in rapeseed is largely driven by its potential in the biofuel industry. Additionally, the rotation of rapeseed crops has been shown to enhance agricultural margins and improve soil structure and health, making it a valuable addition to sustainable and efficient agricultural practices. However, the introduction of rapeseed also presents challenges, such as the risk of new pests, which need to be managed for successful integration into agricultural systems.
