In 2025, an analysis of pesticide registrations submitted by Chinese companies in Brazil shows a consistent movement towards seeking already established commercial partnerships with products available for contracting. Throughout the year, 32 Chinese companies submitted 83 requests for registration of patented products in the country. Herbicides led with 49% of the total, amounting to 43 registrations, followed by fungicides, with 31%, and insecticides, with 17.24%. These requests involved 88 different active ingredients, with clethodim and prothioconazole standing out, present in six products each. Diquat and ammonium glufosinate also appeared frequently.
