Next, we present updated data until 2023 on the evolution of African Swine Fever in the different European countries that confirmed the presence of the disease, both in domestic pigs and wild boars, since the first notification in 2014 (fig. 1 and 3), as well as the total number of annual outbreaks (figs. 2 and 4). As of 2023, the disease has re-emerged in the Czech Republic and Greece and was confirmed for the first time in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo and, in September, Sweden. Regarding the disease in domestic pigs in 2023, we highlight Serbia, which confirmed the presence of the disease for the first time in 2019 and went from 33 outbreaks in 2021 and 107 in 2022 to 991 in 2023 (an increase of more than 800%). Romania doubled the number of cases in 2023, after a drastic decrease in 2022 from more than 1600 outbreaks to 329 outbreaks, in 2023 it confirmed 740 outbreaks.
