If the authority gives the green light, Rewe plans to operate most of the Tegut stores itself, with the remaining ones going to the discount subsidiary Penny. The company did not comment on the purchase price or the affected locations. Rewe intends to offer jobs to the employees. Most Tegut branches are located in Hesse. Edeka is also interested in Tegut supermarkets. Migros recently announced its intention to withdraw from Germany and sell Tegut.
