Indonesia's Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, predicts that the price of beef in the country could drop below IDR 100,000 per kg in March 2024 if the government allows the import of live cattle from Brazil. Luhut believes that importing cattle from Brazil, in addition to Australia and India, will bring down the price of beef. He argues that lower beef prices will promote healthier eating habits among Indonesians.
