Rice industry entities articulate joint measures to face the crisis of the rice production chain in Rio Grande do Sul

The Federation of Rice Growers' Associations of Rio Grande do Sul (Federarroz) participated in a press conference held in the morning of this Thursday (5) at the Federation of Agriculture of the State of Rio Grande do Sul (Farsul), in Porto Alegre (RS), with the participation of representatives from the Rio-Grandense Rice Institute (Irga) and the State Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation (Seapi). On the agenda, the announcement of joint measures by the entities to reverse the difficult situation faced by the rice chain of Rio Grande do Sul. In a presentation by Farsul's chief economist, Antônio da Luz, seven measures were highlighted that were jointly developed for the short and medium term, with the aim of reversing the situation. Among them, the clear and transparent diffusion of the entities' concern about the scenario for 2026 and the recommendation to reduce the planted area.
