Rice planting advances and price drops in Rio Grande do Sul

The Conjunctural Report released this Thursday (6) by Emater/RS-Ascar points to a gradual advance in the sowing of rice in Rio Grande do Sul, according to the soil moisture conditions and the crop schedule. According to the document, "the rains of the period restored moisture in some regions, allowing the resumption of preparation, leveling, and planting work." In places that received higher volumes, there is "good progress in germination and emergence, especially in pre-germinated sowing systems." Emater/RS-Ascar classifies as satisfactory the average percentage of area already planted, which varies between 40% and 60% in the main producing regions, reaching over 90% in the most advanced areas.
