Rio Verde (GO) is the second largest soybean producer in Brazil

Porto Alegre, September 19, 2023 – With an 11% growth in production compared to 2021, Rio Verde rose two positions and began to occupy, in 2022, second place in the ranking of the main soybean producers among Brazilian municipalities. First place went to Sorriso, in Mato Grosso. The information is from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), which published, last Thursday (14/09), the Municipal Agricultural Production (PAM) 2022 survey. The survey also highlighted the performance of other municipalities in Goiás , such as Jataí, Cristalina, Quirinópolis and Ipameri. According to PAM, in 2022 agricultural production in Goiás reached a record value: R$77.1 billion. With the result, Goiás achieved the highest percentage of participation in the value of national agricultural production ever recorded by IBGE, rising from 8.4% (2021) to 9.3% (2022).
