The production of raw milk from dairy cows, sheep, goats, and buffalo in 2024 decreased by 2.7% compared to 2023. The largest decline was in buffalo milk production – by 5.6% (which is also the smallest in quantity), followed by sheep milk – down 4.2%, cow milk – down 2.6%, and goat milk – down 0.8%. This is shown by the data in the situation analysis of milk and dairy products published today by the Ministry of Agriculture. Comparing 2022 and 2023, it is evident that in the second year, raw milk decreased much more sharply than in 2024 compared to 2023. For example, in 2022, the production of cow's milk in the country was 748,278 tons, and in 2023, it plummeted by 42,661 tons to 705,617 tons. In 2024, cow's milk fell by 18,034 tons compared to the previous year and amounted to 687,584 tons. In parallel with the decline in milk production, the number of animals also decreased.
