According to Rosselkhozbank, consumption of greenhouse vegetables in Russia will not grow until 2025

According to the forecasts of the Russian Agricultural Bank, there will be no growth in the consumption of greenhouse vegetables until 2025. It began to decrease during the coronavirus pandemic. Another reason for the decline in consumer demand is a decrease in supplies from abroad due to the imposition of sanctions and rising prices. In the coming years, Rosselkhozbank does not expect an increase in the consumption of greenhouse vegetables. Salads and greens will be an exception. According to the results of 2022, consumption may decrease by 3%, while vegetable production in greenhouse complexes will increase by 7%. Until 2025, about 700 hectares of greenhouses can be launched in Russia. Own production of cucumbers almost completely covers the needs of the domestic market.
