Russia has imposed a ban on the import of tomatoes and peppers from Uzbekistan's Fergana region due to the discovery of the tomato brown rugose fruit virus. The ban is enforced by the Rosselkhoznadzor to prevent the virus's spread in Russia. Currently, the viruses are not included in the Unified List of Quarantine Objects of the EAEU, and a temporary quarantine measure requires exporting countries to ensure the absence of these viruses in consignments of relevant products. The Rosselkhoznadzor has requested the Eurasian Economic Commission to consider including these viruses in the Unified List.
