Consumption of blueberries in Russia has seen a significant increase of 83%, with Morocco being the primary supplier. The consumption per capita doubled from 2017 to 2019, and has further increased during the pandemic. The rise in consumption is attributed to various factors such as a healthy lifestyle trend, vegetarianism, organic food consumption, and the growing popularity of blueberries. As the production of blueberries in Russia is still low, the consumption volumes are primarily monitored through import data. The imports of berries of the Vaccínium genus, which include fresh blueberries, cranberries, and more, increased by 184% from 2017 to 2019.
