Russia creates first hexavalent vaccine for salmon

An aquarium complex has been established at the FGBU VNIIZZH to conduct clinical trials on a new vaccine for rainbow trout and Atlantic salmon. The vaccine is an inactivated emulsion form and can be used on fish weighing 40 grams. The immune response in fish is expected to last for at least a year. The vaccine is crucial as the diseases it protects against pose a significant threat to fish farms. The vaccine has been submitted for state registration.
