Sunflower oil is one of the three most consumed types of edible oil in India, with domestic production accounting for less than 5%. Nearly 60% of India's edible oil demand relies on imports. Palm oil accounts for nearly 50% of total edible oil consumption, with soybean oil and sunflower oil ranking second and third, respectively. The International Sunflower Oil Association stated that this year, the market share of Russian sunflower oil in India will remain around 55% to 60%.
